Why this work matters
Summit exists to help business owners realize their potential through empowering financial leadership.
The owners we work with are carrying real responsibility: growth decisions, cash pressure, people issues, uncertainty. They don’t need more reports. They need financial clarity, strategic direction, and executive accountability. Done well, this work changes the trajectory of a business and the life of the person who owns it. We hire people who are energized by that.
Not on an island
Most fractional CFOs build the job from scratch, alone, one client at a time. You won't.
You will own your client relationships. We hold high standards for clarity, judgment, and follow-through, and we trust our CFOs to manage their time and commitments like owners, not employees waiting for direction. We operate with structure so the work stays focused and sustainable. We do not reward chaos or unnecessary complexity. Four things make that possible.
One cadence, every client
A fixed monthly rhythm, the same for every client and tied to their book close. You learn it once, and your energy goes into the client, not the process.
Templates and playbooks
The CFO Report, the forecast model, the onboarding playbook, and playbooks for both verticals are built and in use. You start from working tools.
Accountability infrastructure
Every commitment from every meeting is captured, owned, and tracked in a shared system. You spend your time on the client, not the follow-up admin.
A team that shows up
When a client problem gets hard, you have partners and peers who have seen it before and will get in it with you.
The environment
This is not a single-company CFO seat.
You'll work with multiple owners across different businesses, systems, and team dynamics. The data will be imperfect. Priorities will compete. The pressure is real. Success comes from quickly understanding how each business works, identifying what actually matters, and driving execution without waiting for perfect information. If complexity, variety, and responsibility give you energy rather than drain it, this is the seat.
Who thrives here
Transformational leaders, not transactional accountants.
Our best CFOs are energized by:
Helping an owner see their business clearly for the first time.
Turning imperfect data into simple, actionable plans.
Being the voice of reason and the driver of accountability when the pressure is on.
Measuring success by business improvement (profit, cash, decisions), not report quality.
They think like operators, communicate like advisors, and act with urgency.
How we work
Financial clarity over financial noise.
Decisions over discussion.
Action over analysis alone.
Sustainable Progress over burnout.
Open roles
Roles are posted here as they open. If nothing is listed and you believe you belong at Summit, apply anyway; we read every one.
